There were so many different shapes, sizes, and positionings!

My fav. explanation for the jars was from a local business man who believed they were created to make whiskey for a local festival.... this was some party!

A jar lid that has survived (but is on the floor nearby its owner)

A jar!

The guide (first day, bless him!), the Dutch couple, and Norwegian Thomas (oh and me)

When you take a 9.5 hour bus journey to see 'em you'd take a lot of photos too!

Near to Phonsavan is the old capital, which was completely destroyed in the war as it was important to the Ho Chi Minh trails. (see Vietnam)

Only the statue survived (in part)

Locals selling the meats in the market, using a plastic bag and stick to keep the flies off!

Monks are not allowed many possessions any their food is provided through donations every morning into their offering bowls

On the road from Phonsavan to Vientiane. These guys changed a tyre in minutes!

I caught a cheeky photo of our guard with his gun (look close!)

you just don't need this on a 10 journey where all the locals are throwing up out of their windows! They fixed it with a stick and 2 belts!

A nice holiday in Thailand... what's the selling point (see next photo)
